Aliens
Black and white film photos of water towers from around Finland. Like alien spaceships, they loom above us. These concrete mushrooms with a shared mycelium of water bring life to communities, yet are often over looked as ugly, brutalist eyesores. This photo series inspired an exploration of silk screen prints on mouth blown window glass. | 2021

The Aliens project continued as an experimentation, where Dallyn tried silk screen printing on mouth blown window glass. The glass prints were layered on top of each other, forming a illusion of depth.
The work was exhibited in the Käsillä Elävä Perintö -exhibition in Taito Gallery that is situated in Craft Corner on Eteläesplanadi 4. The exhibition showcased works made with historical handcrafting methods, which can now be characterised as cultural heritage.
